- Throughout this series of lessons, we will be setting up procedural bakes and batch texture-mapping. We will learn about the creation of specific maps that are generated quickly. We will cover creating normal maps from scratch, automatic creation of diffuse, and ambient occlusion using Quixel's suite of software. Finally, we will be rendering out our bakes and modeling with Marmoset 1.10 and KeyShot for final usage in Photoshop. Software required: ZBrush 4R6, Maya 2014, UVLayout v2 Pro, xNormal 3.18.3, nDo2, dDo 5.2, Photoshop.

Houdini is fast becoming one of the most essential tools for the entire pipeline in film and feature animation production. This workshop covers the essential skills to get started with texturing and shading using the industry-standard tools Maya, Substance Painter, Substance Designer, and Houdini with Redshift. Brent Le Blanc, a Texturing & Shading Artist with over 10 years of experience in film and feature animation, guides you through the complete process of look development in this 2-hour workshop.
First, the multi-pass composite is set up with the passes that were rendered with V-Ray. The car is graded to match the color of the background footage and then we'll look at the shadow extraction process to add the car shadow and ambient occlusion to the background. Finally, grain is added to the CG elements and finishing touches are made to the composite to achieve a realistic shot.
